Cast on 59 (71) st using waste yarn. Knit 2
row. Knit 1 row with unwaxed dental floss
leaving a 15” tail when you begin and end.
This allows you to easily separate the stitches
when you pick them up)
Row 1 (Color A) : *k1, p1* 6 (9) times total,
k1, PM, p3, k6, P3, PM *k1, p1* 4 times total,
k1, PM, p3, k6, p3, PM, *k1, p1* 6 (9) times total,
k1 (59, 71 st) (The markers separate pattern areas.)
Row 2: *p1, k1* 6 (9) times total, p1, k3, p6, k3, *k1, p1*4 times total, k1, k3, p6, k3, *p1, k1* 6 (9) times total, p1 (59 st)
Repeat these 2 rows 4 times total.
Row 9: Repeat Row 1.
Row 10 (Cable Cross): *p1, k1* 6 (9)times total, p1, k3, C3F, k3, *k1, p1*4 times total, K1, k3, C3B, k3, *p1, k1* 6 (9) times total, p1 (59, 72 st)
Repeat Rows 1-10 until the cable cross row has been worked 6 times total.
Knit rows 1-9 again.
Begin to knit in the round.
Round 1: Pick up 59 (71) st at the cast on edge and knit them following Row 1. Then knit as follows across the remaining 59 st removing markers as you knit: *k1, p1* 6 (9) times total, K1, P3, K6, P3, *p1, k1* 4 times total, p1, p3, k6, p3, *k1, p1* 6 (9) times total, k1 (118, 142 st) Place new marker.
Round 2: Inc round; k1, *p1fb, k1fb* 57 (69) times total, k2, *p1fb, k1fb* 57 (69) times total, k1 (232, 280 st)
Round 3: k1, *p2, k2* until last 3 st, p2, k1 (this is a k2, p2 rib, but it begins with a k1 and ends with a k1)
Continue knitting the 2 X2 rib for 5 inches. Change to color B and knit 10 (8) more rounds in 2 X 2 rib. ( Reserve 11 (13) yards for your cast off before knitting the number of rows given. There should be enough yarn.) Using the crochet hook or knitting needle, cast off all stitches loosely.
To Make Up: Darn in all yarn ends from joins. Try on and mark button placement if desired. Sew buttons to right side at edge.
To make tab: Cast on 5 st. k 1 row. Turn: p2, yo, p2 tog, p2 *Turn: k 1 row turn: p1 row*
2 times total turn k2, yo, k2tog, k1. Turn p1 row. Cast off. Darn in ends. Use buttonholes to attach at each side.

Possible color combinations:
Small/Medium size in black & changes for Large size in red. The center pattern is the same for large.
Color change can be made at either side
