 Note: It is best to work this scarf in 2 halves with a seam at center top.

 Materials:

Col 1: Misti Baby Alpaca Hand Painted Chunky (100% Baby Alpaca, Hand Painted 100g=approx 108 yds) Click here to see our selection!

 Yarn required:

Col 1:     3 hanks

Knitting needles:

Circular and double pointed US No. 9 & 10  (5 mm & 6 mm) ndl.

Adjust ndl sizes as needed to Obtain correct gauge.

Gauge/Tension

  Gauge: 14 sts St st  with 6 mm (US No. 10) =  10cm (4 in)

Instructions:

With col 1 and 6 mm (US No. 10) small circ ndl cast on 25 sts. Work back and forth as follows: Note the first and the last 2 sts at each side are edge sts and are always k (= garter sts).  Work 4 cm (1 ½ in) garter sts. Then work [10 cm (4in) St st, 2 cm (3/4 in) garter st ridges]. Repeat [ ] a total of 7 times, ending with 5 cm (2in) St st. Place sts onto a sr holder.

Cast on and work other half in the same manner.

Graft both panels tog ( =  center top). Then fold scarf along center seam and sew edges tog at one side approx 26 cm from top downwards.

Make 6 small pompoms (approx 5 cm (2in) diameter) in col 1. Fasten 3 pompoms along both sides of cast on edges, one at each corner and the remaining pompom in between these. (See Photo).
